The “Exodemic Fictional Universe” is a fictional universe where aliens long ago visited Earth. The internal consistency among all the stories that are set in the Exodemic Fictional Universe is built around one particular solution to the Fermi Paradox.
“Exodemic stories” involve the idea that Earth was first visited by aliens millions of years ago. If so, then why don’t we have evidence that aliens have visited our world? The first part of the “exodemic answer” to this question is that humans simply are not very interesting in the eyes of space aliens who have had advanced technology for hundreds of millions of years. Second, it is fun to imagine that those aliens have long been modifying human evolution….in essence, the human species is a creation of the aliens. As a species, we are a work-in-progress, an experiment. Imagine growing a microbial culture in a laboratory….if you don’t like the results, you might just sterilize the culture dish and start over. That might sound like a formula for some kind of Hollywood SciFi show, but the aliens have invested significant effort in humanity and they are in no hurry to flush us down the drain.
Here is a list of stories that are set in the Exodemic Fictional Universe.
